BENEFITS
Through its various alumni groups and members located throughout the country, Alpha Kappa Psi offers a permanent professional association with a selected group of college trained individuals whose basic backgrounds are of real value in a professional, as well as a social case. Alpha Kappa Psi teaches and emphasizes the observance of high standards of personal and professional conduct and ethics, thus providing intangible benefits of value to the student during the formative years.
In addition, there are some other intangible values. Chapter life offers opportunity for improvement of individual personality and ability through the medium of actual experience. Development of the ability to work with others, to plan and carry out various projects, to talk before a group, to preside at a meeting, to lead others, is highly important, and chapter life develops such abilities through the most effective medium, that of actual experience.
Another benefit is the friendly and informal association made possible between student and faculty. Because each chapter has faculty members, the opportunity is provided for joint gatherings during which faculty and students may discuss subjects of mutual interest on an informal and friendly basis.
Contacts with alumni members in business assist student members in vocational guidance, aid them to obtain employment, or to secure more desirable positions.
Last, but not least, is the opportunity offered each member to enlarge the circle of friends and acquaintances. Friends made in college, more often than not, are the most valued in life, and the close fraternal association of Alpha Kappa Psi enables the making of friends of the most desirable type.
